PROJECT 1A
Project 1A focused on collective research and individual exploration of bodily-conscious inspiration and experimental design processes. Students were introduced to a poetic design approach, using the choreography of native culture-inspired contemporary dances. The task required observing and documenting bodily movements through Ethnographic Drawings, including plan and elevation movement mapping. The project aimed to understand the meaning of the dance through observation and drawing, leading to a form-making process. The final outcome was a Choreography-Informed Envelope designed as a flagship construct for a Pas de Deux, emphasizing bodily-conscious, affective, and expressive design.
PROJECT 1B
Project 1B required us to conduct a site analysis and explore the site's narrative through selected points of interest. This process involved synchronizing various aspects of the site and presenting the findings using diagrammatic, pictorial, mapping, or visual depictions. Then later the outcome was a visceral board, visually capturing the essence and narrative of the site through these creative representations.

PROJECT 1C
This Project involves creating an architectural design for a Dance Annexe aimed at reclaiming and promoting the local native dance culture in Malacca. Students will propose a two-storey, standalone dance house adjacent to the Encore Melaka Theatre, choosing between two specific sites along the reclaimed coastline. The design should support cultural dance programs and public engagement, with a floor area between 350sqm and 450sqm, incorporating universal design principles for accessibility.
